Review: Color School - Close Enough To Fix

Color School band says: ' Three guys released the first EP ( Iridescent). We had a blast and met a lot of people. Two guys continue to play. We are about having fun at the end of the day. It is about inclusion verses exclusion. We were part of the dc scene where every musician was a messenger. Oh, the name is a tribute to the Washington School of Color and Light. As we are from DC, we wanted to pay homage to something SO DC that was not political.'

Close Enough To Fix is comprised of 6 incredible tracks where they use genres, such as Rock and Alternative. The album opens with groovy composition called Control which, in my opinion, is a great choice for the album opener. Starting with the guitars, personally for me it brings vibes of rock bands of the past century. The composition is followed by song titled Own - upbeat tune where the band plays catchy guitars, which make this song much more interesting. Tracks Before Now, as well as Issue - are energetic tracks which starts with electric guitars and drums: they literally make us feel the whole mood of the album. Catchy melodies will definitely stay in head for a long time. The 4th song on the record, What's On Your Mind impressed me with beautiful male and female vocals and became one of my favorites from the album: it starts with guitars and then develops in gentle track which will make you even sing along. Acoustically touched ballad Another Heartache will help you to relax after the long day.

To sum up, everything in Close Enough To Fix comes together in a stream of consciousness style. This is unforgettable journey into the mix of alternative music and meaningful lines in one piece.
