Review: Taymarion - Dark Side of the Rose

Dark Side of the Rose is comprised of 13 incredible tracks in genres, such as R&B and Soul. The album opens with light and romantic composition called Vibes which, in my opinion, is a great choice for the album opener. Starting with the guitars, it really brings vibes, as it is titled. The composition is followed by Rain Down - R&B tune with the catchy chorus and backing vocals in pre-chorus, which make this song much more interesting. It easily became one of my favorites on the record. The third track - Like I Can - I would say, sexy song with beautiful lyrics. While listening to it, I was watching real feelings expressed throughout the song: it literally makes us feel the whole mood of the album. The 5th song on the record, N***a Like Me, impressed me with its dynamics. Catchy melodies and chorus will definitely stay in head for a long time. Ol Skool is an easily memorable song: it starts with synths and then developes in upbeat track which will make you even sing along. All Fuck'd Up, as well as Distraction and Grown Men Cry, is the sad and meaningful track which many people can relate to: it shares the story about the disappointment in friendship and love. Unfortunately, many of us faced this situations. In Grown Men Cry we can also hear harmonies in chorus, which make the song more interesting and touching. The same effect we can hear on How Does It Feel, the 12th song on the tracklist. No Time For Love, the final song on the tracklist, is the one that will definitely make listeners move because of its dynamics. Acoustically touched in the beginning ballads Faded, Poker Face and Pillow are the ones that surprise listeners with the contrast of acoustic and R&B parts and will help you to dive deep in thoughts after a hard day, but Pillow is my absolute favorite from the record, because this song is more sensetive and touching in comparison to others.

To sum up, everything in Dark Side of the Rose comes together in a stream of consciousness style. This is unforgettable journey into the mix of R&B music and meaningful lines in one piece.
